The journey is the destination!
Leave this planet a little more beautiful and joyous than you found it!
If U Only do what U have Always done, then don't complain, One will Only be where One has always been
An artist lives and thrives on the visibility of his/her work. I would love to know how my images have been used, so if possible drop me a single line on my email below to share how creative folks around the earth use my images! Please dont deny me that High :) Thanx in Adv...

Wow ... Dont know whether anyone think of this before But Hats off to this brilliant suggestion by KCPhotos. It seems so perfect and fair to all...
And Mocker I did not mean to be offensive i the sense that u took it -- I am sorry if you took it that way... But thats the way i feel. how can u decide its not worse or same as you felt then. There's no meter to check the pain levels. I guess sensitivity is a threshold that varies from people to people in the sense that for me a verbal and emotional violence is worse than physical in certain aspects. Or say a peanut may b painfully fatal to a certain person ( allergy) but absolutely ok to the next. Its abt what each persons sensitivity and perception of Pain Threshold .. pain is not anyway less for verbal abuse.. rather it goes deeper and may last a life time.
Though in this context i agree it may be not fully in context and applicable, but that is what an analogy is all about...some part of it feels "like" something.. not necessary everything is the same. Then it would not be an analogy!
And if it makes you feel better my friend, then i am willing to edit or delete that part but it still will stay in your comment quote until u edit yours too :) ! It seems i cant edit it after a day has elapsed...
Anyways I give my consent to Tanjie or anyone in admin to delete if they feel like...
And thanx for your feedback Mocker will try to be more careful in future

With Ref to Raycan and many others here- I totally agree -- This is Exactly the kind of scenario that i feared too. Somebody's been going all out with a vengeance flagging 'lightning' Keywords. It seems the person has an hidden agenda that nobody else should have lightning related images on Dreamstime! Agreed This gentleman may have poor sales in-spite of good work but are we to take the brunt of his frustration and envy? Please spare us any monopolistic sharks here on DT. Over and above that, most of these people themselves have so many irrelevant keywords. In my case there were Virga cloud patterns which are conducive for dry thunder and lightning, but he comes along and flags lightning. I guess we could use the same logic and flag his images that show a few cacti and keyword mentions Arizona etc. Its like precipitation or metaphor. Some things are implied. Its like a modern glass and steel building - you cant see the steel and metal and most contributors will mention steel in their skyscraper shots!
As Tangie and Achilles have generously explained, The think tanks and authorities who decided and approved the flag facility .. may have had good intentions but sometimes they backfire and we need to draw a line. It may be Penny wise but Pound foolish scenario. In the name of achieving better results, efficiency and profits, if we are creating more bad blood as well as lowering the morale of its Creative Assets --the photographers, Then i feel DT needs to do a little rethink on this matter. (the percentage of better efficiency will be too minuscule to the cost and depression its causing!...) All said and done, we all are part and parcel of the DT family and each has a contribution in its success and glory. AT the moment Its like throwing out the baby with the bathwater. The very system that worked and made DT into a name to reckon with, cant be suddenly so bad! Those were the same keywords and images that shot DT to fame. Suddenly how can they be liabilities. And if there is actually a need to be more perfectionist then i guess there should be keyword editors just like we have image editors. WE dont mind someone officially checking and asking for clarification. Pardon me the extreme analogy, but It almost feels like the administration encouraging a few Judan rats reporting on other fellow Jews in pre-war Germany just to get a few perks and doles from the Nazis. We should be in the photograph business and not into big brother watching.
IN addition to the trouble outdoor photographers have to go through, including heightened security issues, permissions and travel costs, it is a bit too much to be worried about logging in and being served Flags then checking for these irrelevant flags by some gold hunter and then wasting time commenting and trying to explain yourself.
I don't dispute that there may be irrelevant keywords but the number would be very low especially amongst your well earning members. The people who report may be well intentioned people too but its open to wild abuse. What people mention on the forum is a very small percentage of the bigger silent majority that's quite concerned.
I did try flagging and reporting wrong words too, but too be frank i feel cheap trying to tell a fellow photographer that one or two words, out of his hundreds of images, is off the mark! Most of the time the words are relevant except in cases where there is clear and present Spamming ... I guess those would not sell anyways!
As its is Photography is a highly subjective art just as language and meaning to a certain extent.
I guess what the moderators at DT need to know that many of Creative Arts people are quite perfectionist and self respecting with their work. I guess it goes with the territory or field of work. But A term like 'Flagging' has a tinge that is demeaning to say the least. I also encourages a kind of wild west kind of mentality where everyone is at each others throats for a few cents.
Hope this is taken in the right spirit and we can all get back to the business of making and selling Good Images!
Cheers and best wishes :) posted in Flagging policy update - flag comments
