thanks for the link, I will take a look, wondering if anyone has used that lens with a Nikon camera for stock, I have a couple of Nikon lenses but wondering about a lighter lens for wandering around when travelling.. |

Well, I use a Canon, but my friend uses a Nikon, and from my experience our cameras don't show any particular differences when using our lenses that are the same. I think the performance differences will be negligible for those cameras. Other's I don't know. |

Hello Mollys1, i just used one Tamron 17-50 with nikon D60 body, i found this kit can work very well, and can get very fast and exact focus.I like this lens' wide zoom ring, and it also has a LOCK swith can fix zooming. About the resolution and chromatic aberration, i will give more test. but, i think most of this kind of lens can give high quality image when shooting with good lighting condition, and this lens' F2.8 also can give us wide use. |

HI Yemeky, thanks for your reply, that sounds like very useful information, I think I will invest in one, to use with my D70, I bought a similar lens but a sigma one to go with the olympus e400 so am trying that out too, is the D60 the next one up from the D80? |

No, D60 is not the next one up from D80, someone guess that will be a new one called D90. It will be baby camera of D300(and D300 is a baby camera of D3). D60 is a up camera of D40X(D40). |

So many new cameras on the market, its a minefield choosing which ones to buy, I guess they all have their pros and cons, just need to find one that suits the individual, I like your portfolio Yemeky, are the latest photos taken with the Tamron 2.8? |

No, i work for one photography magazine, so every time can use new camera and lens, that is called "test", but, i still not upload any images that shoot with tamron 2.8, i will think of doing that later.
Thank you for you like my images and i guess once day you will find one camera that suits for stock, good luck to you.

My very first lens was the tamron 17-50mm 2.8 lens, probably half my portfolio here was taken with it before I converted over to using old manual focus m42 mount primes. The lens is not exactly as sharp as I would like, but has been able to deliver very pleasing images. CA is a problem even stepped down, I took alot of studio shots with some strobes at f/11 and there is still visible CA. overall not a bad lens though, if you can get one on ebay for under $300 it isn't a bad deal. |

I used to own this lens. For the money I would say it delivered as expected. It had many shortcomings: It was loud, focus was much softer than I preferred and it did have CA issues. I sold this lens and bought a 24-105mm f4L for about 4 times the cost of this Tamron. For me it was worth saving for the better lens. |

I use this lens for event photography with D300, it works better then a non f2.8 nikon, sharpness and focusing are good, only thing is it don't have Internal Focusing, but for this price I don't think you can get better a f2.8 lens. |

Thanks fpr all replies, Tamron have just brought out one with internal motor so can use with D60 now, the VR kit lens that came with D60 isnt very sharp, or maybe invest in the Nikon 60mm 2.8 lens, I keep comparing with my old D70 and NIkon 50mm prime lens... |
