| Celebrity photo refused because of missing model release |

I have had several celebrity photos refused because of missing model releases. From what I understand, we don't need model releases for celebrities, or am I wrong? How in the world would one obtain a model release from a celebrity? |

Maybe you uploaded them as regular RF submission? Make 100% sure that you upload celebrity images only as EDITORIAL, then you don't need a model release.

Yes, please, make sure that you upload Editorial images by using the Submit Editorial Image page at this address: http://www.dreamstime.com/uploadfile.php?type=4
If you upload your image/s as regular RF stock, as Anke mentioned, then they will be refused unless an MR is attached. |

But upto my understanding Editorial images cannot be sold... And what in case we shoot a parade or crowd.. Cannot go about taking model release from all in the crowd. |

Richard, you submited your images as regular RF and therefore they were refused. Make sure (like Petar guided you) to use the proper tab when submitting your images. In the future, please write support to ask questions about your refused images.
Ravi, editorial images are sold the same as "normal" images. If you took photographs during a news event (parade) and don't have model releases for the recognizable persons from your images, you may submit them as editorial, although this doesn't mean that they will certainly be accepted (the editors will decide this taking into consideration multiple aspects of the image). |
