I joined and was accepted. I did a search on some of my images, not here, but some that I have on the web and I KNOW they are on other places. Tin Eye found none of the images I searched for. So I am wondering about this program. Oh I did install the plug in for Fire Fox. Much easier to work that way.
Can you maybe post a image in the forum that I can click on to see how this thing is suppose to work?

It's Beta version, just a beginning.
They don't have a lot of images indexed yet (486,637,255 today), but they are constantly crawling the web and expanding their index.
I have found some of my images. Not many and not all I know, but it's a good start.
Found this one for example:
Some images with watermarks give 0 results, but when you look them up without watermark, you receive results.
It's only Beta version, I guess it's getting better and better in the course of time.
And that plugin is really handy. :) |

I've been using this for a week or two now. I haven't found much. I think the problem (besides this being in beta) is that I am searching using the plug in. (right clicking). Most images I've searched have a watermark. I wonder if that could be a problem in the image information being searched. I will try uploading some to see if there is a difference in results. |

That's no problem. I use the plugin as well, and only found 1 image on 2 different sites. 1 of the 2 sites had the image cropped and was thus missing pig chunks. TinEye was still able to find it. What I did notice is that the search results might differ depending on the input size.
Keep in mind that TinEye's database is not yet really big. It might take a while before the search engine becomes really good.

I've found quite a few images. It's fun to use but at the moment they only have a small percentage of the images on internet indexed. It will be much better when they have more images indexed. Some of my models had never seen their images in use so it was great to be able to show them web pages with their photos. |

Hi,
I registered with Tin Eye about a week ago and it was just about 24 hours later that they emailed me that I was in. So far I've been able to locate several of my images and that was exciting. I also think that they are new and have to get more into their database for it to work better for those looking for their images. Keep in mind that this is for the internet only, of course, and there are lots of images used for print work, etc. that we won't know about through this means. Good luck everybody!

Ok, they just responded, and I'm in! But now, I keep getting need flash enabler to upload image, how do I do this ? Sorry, never use firefox... :O( Can i just use it with safari? and can you do it from your portfolio ? Sorry I'm a little confuse and can't make it work... |

Cathy, I use Firefox and installed the plugin. It's so cool. All I have to do is to open a webpage with image, right-click on image and select Search Image on TinEye. It opens a new tab with TinEye results. I haven't try how it would work, if I would upload an image.
It's a really great tool! Have fun! |

I've figured out how to use it with safari: click on the pic, copy the image address and paste it in the URL space, click search and voila! But so far no success in any of mine... someday! ;O)) |
