I see this sort of keywording a lot. And it seems to me that using a concept term as abstract as 'adapted' as a keyword on an image of an animal is stretching it just a bit. After all, the term applies (in an evolutionary sense) to just about every living organism on the planet so in essence that keyword spams 'life' in general. :) Why not use the keyword 'communicates' for any picture of a human, or for that matter, any living organism. After all they all communicate. The purpose of keywording is to accurately describe the more obvious features of an image to quickly get to a grouping that fits a particular need. If a designer is looking for an image that shows adaptive behavior, or exemplifies the Darwinian concept of evolution, then it is more likely that they would be looking for very specific (not generic) examples of adaptation. . for instance an image of the progression chart of the evolution of man from early primate to the present. Or in the case of 'adapted', perhaps animals with interesting camouflage or spots to assist them in concealing themselves in the environment. But certainly not a picture of an average looking domestic animal in a field staring into the camera. Just because some obscure inference might be drawn about an image that is six degrees or more separated from its obvious presentation doesn't mean that the word describing it should be included as a keyword. posted in keyword: adapted - what does it mean?

It also, has IS, which in that price range ($170.00) is pretty remarkable. If you want something a bit more pricey go for the Canon 17-40mm F/4 L. Its about 6 or 7 hundred dollars. But its a great lens with absolutely great quality for the price. Keep in mind that whatever lens you get will have a magnification factor of 1.6x since your camera is not a full frame sensor model, which at 17mm Wide Angle, translates to an effective Field of view of approximately 28mm - or a moderate, not super wide, wide angle lens. You do get a boost at the upper end of the zoom. It effectively makes a 40mm lens into a 64mm lens. To get to a super wide angle equivalent, you might want to consider the CAnon DF 15mm f/2.8 fisheye at $599.00.
